Hey Reader,
This week I’ll be on the road for work — a trip packed with business meetings, dinners, and the kind of strategic face time that corporate loves. But holy hell, the anxiety of being around so many people for so many days in a row has me wanting to crawl into a turtle shell and vanish. Can I bring my Kindle to the meeting? Wear my hoodie? Maybe a weighted blanket and noise-canceling headphones? No? Damn.
Still, I’m looking forward to it. It’s meaningful work, and I get to see my long-distance colleagues in actual 3D. But if I’m being real, I’m also gonna miss the hell out of home — my family, my dogs, and my weekly hit of glitter, glue, and absolute chaos at TGIC, my kids’ art club.
Thankfully, TGIC is still happening (huge shoutout to the badass volunteer holding it down while I’m gone). Knowing the little community I built keeps running even when I’m not there? That’s a weirdly emotional win. It’s grown into something with its own rhythm, its own heartbeat. That’s not nothing. That’s heart work — the kind that takes a soft center and a strong damn spine to build and protect.
Balancing presence and professionalism, leadership and longing — it’s a lot. But honestly? It’s also kind of beautiful. This week, I’m trying to carry both: a steady hand and a soft heart. Backbone engaged, feelings intact.
Weekly Tarot Card.
This card is emotional maturity in motion. It’s the big-hearted king who doesn’t get swept away by his feelings but also doesn’t ignore them. He leads with compassion, listens deeply, and shows up with calm, even in the middle of chaos.
The King of Cups reminds us that strength doesn’t always look like control — sometimes it’s grace under pressure, or staying soft when you’d rather shut down. It’s knowing your emotions are real, but they don’t have to run the show.
If you’ve been riding emotional waves lately (uh, hi, I see you), this card’s a nudge: steady yourself. You can hold space for others and for yourself. You can show up with a full heart and a grounded spine. You’ve got both.
A Powerful Question.
Where in my life can I practice steadiness without shutting down?
See ya next time.
It’s okay to feel it all — and still stand tall.
Cheers,
